Ladder Canyon Hike

As far as Jon is concerned, no trip to California is complete without our annual hike to Ladder Canyon. Here are a few shots from yesterday's outing.....

Christmas in Sky Valley - 2009

Christmas day in California looks a little different from in Prince George, but we certainly don't mind the sunshine!

Here are Mom & Dad with the centrepiece Gerry & Chris sent them.

We started our day with a traditional Christmas breakfast with Opa & Oma and then moved on to some present opening.....

Mom liked her shawl (good thing I got it done on time!).....

.....and Dad looked good in his new jacket.

Jon got to open his stocking first before Opa & Oma arrived for the morning.

...and here we are kicking back after a nice turkey dinner!

A Visit with James & Stephanie

Yesterday we visited James (our nephew - Cindy's son) and his wife Stephanie closeby in 29 Palms. James is serving in the US Marines and is stationed there right now. It was great to meet Stephanie for the first time.





We were also delighted to meet their new baby boy, Dylan, only 10 days old. He is a very cute little guy!

Hike Overlooking Sky Valley

Matt and I hiked up the big hill behind Sky Valley the other day; you can see the park in the valley below me.





At the top of this hill a man had created a shrine in memory of his late wife, Liz. We were amazed at how he had obviously packed all these extremely heavy materials up the hill.

Cutbanks Hike

Yesterday we took a great family hike from our home to the Nechako cutbanks that overlook Prince George. Matt let us up a steep trail right to the top; Jon thought the whole adventure was mighty fine!

We don't have snow yet, but I expect it'll be coming soon.....

Moose on Heritage Crescent

When Matt got home from work the other day, this moose was munching on a tree in our front yard. By the time Matt grabbed the camera, the moose had moved to our neighbour's house and then gradually made its way down the street. It was quite the sight!
