Dad took a float plane trip to Witch Lake and some other stops with Greg Manwaring the other day. It was a memorable day out on the lakes!

Canoeing at Bednesti Lake

This weekend Matt took Jon out to the cabin for a guys-only evening, and then I joined them the next day for a canoe ride between Bednesti Lake & Berman Lake. The channel between the two lakes was beautiful!

Weekend at the Cabin

Jon had his friend Graham out to the cabin for the last weekend in August. They caught fish right off our dock and loved exploring ths lake in the motorboat.

Apple Harvest

Jon did all of our apple picking this year, and we then juiced them all. In about six months or so we'll know if our cider turned out!

A Visit to Fort St. James

Lisa's cousin Joern & wife Nic came to Canada in early August, so she invited us up to Fort St. James for a visit at their cabin on Stuart Lake.

All of us loved holding baby Nils as much as we could!

Jon & Paris spent a bit of time in the water & sand before a storm rolled in.

It was fun to gather around the fire pit even though campfires were banned due to our heat wave this summer!

Summer Vacation - Birds of Prey in Duncan

It was fascinating to see these magnificent birds up so close.

After we visited the Birds of Prey, Chris took us for a refreshing dip in Fuller Lake. This was a teeny bit warmer that Bednesti usually is at this time of year.

We ended our trip with a nice visit with Gerry & Chris in Duncan. Here's the chef at work making homemade pasta...

Chris took us to see Cowichan Bay.

They also hosted a delicious dinner with Joyce & Janet Roggema - I hadn't seen them in almost 20 years!

Gerry & Chris were preparing to head off on one of their star-gazing adventures. They certainly have the right equipment!
